On this home page, we will tell you more about our webquest assignment and what we have learned from this experience.
The WebQuest
For our English 450 class our professor assigned a final group assignment that tied into a book that we had been
reading all semester. The book was called The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver and one of the book's underline stories
was about a refugee couple from Guatemala, who were fleeing the Guatemalan Civil War. This book inspired our professor
to go on her very own webquest. With the knowledge and new-found awareness she thought to share this experience with
her students. Our professor instructed us to to research the Guatemalan Civil War in our groups and write a group essay
about what caused the war. In the pages that follow you will see first hand what we have learned and I hope that you
enjoy it and learn as much we have learned from it.
